March is the month that we celebrate Women Entrepreneurs at Paper Birch Landing Gallery! 2 floors of Art – Over 60 pieces representing over 30 Women Artists in Kansas City!
“Success is now lined up with the realm of glamour, money and accouterments which in essence have nothing to do with an originating vision but they do have to do with establishing recognition in commercial culture. I think women artists have a chance to deflect that and break that grip apart.” -performance artist Carolee Schneemann

Close to Home(less) – An Interactive Art Installation and Exhibition to benefit the KC Rescue Mission – April 2019
Close to Home(less) – the Interactive Art Exhibition to benefit the KC Rescue Mission and the life saving work they are doing in Kansas City.
Humanitarian Photographer Valerie Anderson has volunteered with the KC Rescue Mission for many years. This year, she teamed up with Paper Birch Landing Gallery in North Kansas City, along with Poet Terrance Sanders and other local Kansas City Artists to bring an interactive art exhibition on Homelessness to the Kansas City Public.
This Interactive Art Installation with Photography, Painting, Poetry and Installation Art will give the viewer a glimpse into a world that is only steps away from any human being, many viewers may have already had a personal experience in their lifetime. How close are we all to being down on our luck? Closer than we know. “By the Grace of God, Go I” That instead of seeing our Homeless brothers and sisters as different than ourselves, may this installation of art serve the community of Kansas City to show that we are all the same. We all need food, water, a bed to sleep in and someone to love us – it matters not if we have a million dollars or not a penny to our name.
Our Brothers and Sisters on the streets are the same as each of us. We are all unique, beautiful human beings, doing our best in this life. All people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. And when one of us falls down, it is our job to uplift our brothers and sisters, provide help when needed, and encourage each other – with the correct resources- to lead the best life we can.
The KC Rescue Mission staff works tirelessly to ensure that no one is left behind, that if you need a hot meal – you have it, if you need a shower and a place to lay your head – you have it, that you will know God is working in your life and that above all – you are not alone!
Join us on April 12, 2019 for an evening that will uplift you and make you think.
5 pm – 6 pm – Patrons of KC Rescue Mission Preview *If you are a Patron of the KC Rescue Mission please join us for a special preview hour on opening night. You will be able to view the show in advance, speak with staff from the Mission and the artists who put together this show.

Call for Art – We are Human
Art Call : We Are Human May 2019 Paper Birch Landing Gallery Deadline for Entry – March 10th
We are Human is an open show for Artists to explore how Humanity, the Human Form and Human Consciousness is depicted and expressed through all art mediums. Some Artists may choose to focus on one aspect – Such as Human Form, with Life Drawing, Painting, Photography, Sculpture. Others May choose to focus on more than one throughout their pieces.
Often times in our lives, we get so caught up in our daily lives and what bombards us, from the news to ads on television…that we forget how beautiful we all are…in all the ways that make us each unique. From what matters to us and how we help our fellow man, to the beauty in each one of us, and how we connect to something greater than ourselves. Being Human is an amazing experience. Through this show, we will present an amazing array of Fine Art, that speaks to our core as humans, to the Kansas City Public.
Artists are invited to submit their best work for this show! All works entered will be accepted for this show after light review from the gallery staff.
